Do You Copy?

There is a DIY guide to almost everything. Self Website design also offers a plethora of books, videos and other explanations. The best way to find out how to create your own website is roll up your sleeves and start working.  It is one thing to draw your website on paper but it is another thing to see how it functions and to try out the colors and styles on your screen.

There are some important issues to consider when creating your site. Once you have considered your target audience you can set the tone of your site. Consider these vital questions before writing your copy:

Who is your audience?
How much do they know about your subject?
Do they have any first hand knowledge or experience?
What is their educational background?
Are they the actual purchaser or end user?

Next consider:

Why will the audience be interested?
Is your information necessary or for entertainment?

By considering all of these factors, you can properly set your tone and decide what to say. It is important that your content be compelling and no repelling. If you are talking to C+ executives, you will want to use the vernacular associated with their peer group. On the other hand, if you are selling the latest MP3 player to college students you will want to use suggestive language that appeals to them.

Regardless of whom your audience is as long as you speak at their level, tell them what is in it for them and why they should care you will continue to keep their attention and raise conversions rates.
